First Road Trip

Posted by admin  Published in Adventures, Biker Stories, Uncategorized

Memorial Day Weekend found me traveling 250 miles up to my folks’ house to hang out with them for the weekend.  It was a bit breezy and gusty at times, but it was a very  nice ride.  I had a backpack on with some water and a few snacks since I would be traveling over lunch time, but not actually stopping for lunch. I drove the first half of the trip keeping right around 70mph, since I had well over the initial 500 miles for the break-in period on it.  That happens when you use it for a daily driver and your daily commute is nearly 80 miles round-trip.

As a side note, you should remember sun block….a little over half way there I realized I had not put any sunblock on, and I paid the price.  The doorag I had on left half my forehead a nice pasty white, while the lower half and the rest of my face was completely red, chapped and sunburned.
